It was amazing when I tried this recipe. I never thought it was so easy to make chips out of whole wheat flour, without compromising taste. Whole wheat flour chips have a very different flavor and you can spice it by adding chili powder or any chaat masalas. I wish to share some of my mistakes so that you guys can avoid that.
1. While making half-cooked chapati do not overcook them as for chapati, it will change the texture and taste of the chips.
2. Never forget to half cook those chapatis
3. Maintain the correct temperature for the oil. Maintain medium temperature.
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour - 1cup
- Salt - as required
- Oil - for frying
- Chilli powder - 2tspn
Method:
- Take one cup of whole wheat flour.
- Sprinkle some salt, combine well
- Gradually add water and mix well
- Knead as for chapati dough
- Roll out as for chapati
- Half cook them in a dosa Tawa
- Cut in the desired shape
- Fry those pieces in medium heat
- For extra spice, you can sprinkle chilli powder and give a quick mix
- Spicy whole wheat flour chips ready to serve.
